Opus Dei is a Catholic institution founded by Saint Josemaría Escrivá. Its mission is to spread the message that work and the circumstances of everyday life are occasions for growing closer to God, for serving others, and for improving society.

2009 marks the 70th anniversary of the publication of St. Josemaría’s spiritual masterpiece, "The Way." It has sold 5 million copies in 50 languages. Here is the introduction to "The Way" written by Bishop Javier Echevarría for the 2006 Doubleday edition.

It was June 1975. “I took up my camera one last time and focused on his hands, which were so expressive. That was the last photo of him that I took.”
In the midst of the present economic difficulties, we offer a "Novena for Work" for asking St. Josemaria's intercession in finding a job.
During the Year for Priests convoked by Benedict XVI, Bishop Javier Echevarría asks us to pray that God bless the Church with many holy priests. Also a video and some related bibliographical material.
